Most people are familiar with the concept of wallpaper for your computer but it is becoming more and more popular to have a wallpaper on the back of your mobile phone. A common practice is to set a picture you have taken as your mobile wallpaper. Many people set their mobile wallpaper to something that they feel will brighten their day, like having a puppy wallpaper. Either way, this technology has caught on like wildfire! Another popular new mobile phone technology is mobile screensavers.
If you’ve used a computer you are probably familiar with the concept of a screensaver. Once your screen is inactive for a determined period of time, your screensaver comes on. This technology is now available, and greatly in demand for mobile phones. These screensavers will either come preinstalled on some phones, or you will have the opportunity to download them. Let’s say, for example, I’m a fan of puppies. I could set my phone to have a puppy screensaver so once it is inactive for a certain period of time; I would see some form of puppy animation.
Another huge advancement in mobile phone technology is with the introduction of Realtones. Most people know what ringtones are. Realtones are very similar except they use actual songs, often in mp3 format, and play them when your phone rings. This is a big advancement from older monophonic ringtones.
It’s amazing to look back at older mobile phone technology and see how far we have come. It is also very interesting to look to the future and only assume what mobile phone companies have in store for us next.
